Barking and Dagenham Canoe Club – Beginner Session *Booking only

Beginners will learn how to get into and out of the boat, the basics of paddling (such as forwards, backwards and turning). Barking and Dagenham Canoe Club runs beginner sessions at Mayesbrook Park Lake. Please book your session with the club before attending the session. Common Questions
What should I wear?
For all sessions please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and dirty. We recommend wearing lighter clothing, no jeans or hooded tops. We ask that you wear secure footwear to avoid losing footwear in the event of a capsize. Please remember to bring a towel and fresh clothes to change into.
What equipment do I need?
We provide all equipment including buoancy aids and waterproof jackets for when the weather isn’t so sunny.
How old do I do need to be?
You have to be 8 years of age or older
